The access to the site is an uphill one: in the street that goes uphill, the house stands out and hides among the neighbouring buildings and then reappears in a scenographic perspective in which you can notice the whole dimension of the building
House in the Alps. Architecture helps to create an intense relationship with nature
The holiday house, with its external wooden "skin", is designed by GEZA gri and zucchi architecture and is located in Tarvisio in the province of Udine, in a complex place characterized by a steep slope terrain and a breathtaking view

To access it, it is necessary to walk along a pedestrian street that revolves around it, in which the building moves away from the context of the construction, immersing itself in the natural one. The building gradually becomes smaller and smaller: from a three-storey volume to a single floor with the landscape as a frame
The layout is oriented according to the view: the living area is located to the east, where the bright and open panorama of the valley opens up. The volumes are articulated on different altitudes, following the slopes of the terrain
The living area is on the same floor as the entrance, combining the two remaining volumes into a single space. The sleeping area with the main room is located on the upper floor, while the other rooms and the wellness area are on the lower floor
Thanks to the presence of several volumes that follow the conformation of the ground, the house seems to slide on the ground, giving lightness to the whole project. The construction is made of concrete and visible only in the interior spaces, while the exterior is completely covered in wood and inspired by traditional alpine architecture
The cladding is made of vertical larch blades surrounding the building and becomes a sunshade for solar control and energy containment, filtering the private interior and exterior world. The wooden blades can be rotated, obtaining different orientations, creating different spacings, between which the light rays of the Alps subtly vibrate
