Organic building in Puerto Escondido. Educational and cultural spaces to promote heritage

The project designed by Architect Inca Hernandez includes the creation of a space dedicated to the cultural promotion of the area. The volume integrates with the regional vegetation through internal gardens that also function as a gallery

Puerto Escondido is known worldwide for its coastline and waves. The project stems from the need to create a space dedicated to the cultural promotion of the area by proposing the creation of educational and cultural spaces on a large scale

The building is designed as an educational and socio-cultural space within a linear park, forming a Master Plan on the coast. The volume integrates with the regional vegetation through internal gardens that also function as galleries while creating a platform where cultural and educational activities with ocean views converge

The structure is designed to be raised from the ground simulating a mangrove swamp while enabling it to adapt to the phenomenon of ocean waves. The façade of the building is made of wooden pylons, allowing the sea breeze to pass through. This connection with the surrounding environment can also be found in the roof structure which simulates ocean waves and functions as a Skatepark
