Hotel built in the trees. The preserved vegetation is part of the architecture

The project of a small hotel that stands among the trees is the work of the Jesus Acosta Arquitectura studio, whose main objective is to preserve as much vegetation as possible while building around it, using local materials

The hotel, located in Tulum and designed by the Jesus Acosta Arquitectura studio, stands among the trees. The main objective was to preserve 70% of the vegetation present to build around it. In this way, every space of the building is always in relation with nature

The hotel has five loggias of 50 square metres, with a double room, a loft, a terrace and an en-suite bathroom. The back of the lot is occupied by the social areas, i.e. areas containing a dining room and a yoga pavilion

The yoga pavilion cantilevers over the pool. The main idea in the designing of the pool was to be extruded from the ground into the surrounding vegetation. That's why two old trees were kept, which seem to rise from the same pool

The whole project is composed of local materials with natural textures and low maintenance, which give a warm feeling to the buildings. The main objective was to use materials that could age with dignity, so that over time the architecture acquires character and a deeper sense of belonging
