TERRAIN architects were established in 2011, in Tokyo, and are currently based in Tokyo, Japan; and Kampala, Uganda. TERRAIN architects produces indigenous design solutions derived from the research into the specifics of each project, and into the availability of local materials and skills. TERRAIN architects believes its role is to explain to the users and their communities what is possible – how they may best utilize the potential of their ‘terrain’.
