Blumenegg Center in Thuringia- unusual recycling hub

The Blumenegg Center in Thuringia was designed as a structure tailored for the collection of recyclable building materials, consolidating various functions within a single roof. This unusual project takes the form of a large wooden shed, strategically designed to accommodate diverse operations seamlessly

Deliberate structural design

In the structural design of the Blumenegg Center, the Hammerer studio used 8 large wooden supports from which 15 wooden beams are articulated to calmly trace the flow of forces. The interplay of laminated beams, unfinished tree trunks and metal fittings is evidence of the successful collaboration between architects, engineers and the client

Contrast in building authority spaces

The closed area allocated for building authorities incorporates OSB panels across its flooring, ceiling, and interior walls. This deliberate choice creates a great contrast against the white doors and furniture, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics
