Luxurious Lodge on the banks of the Nile. River and National Park views

Localworks is responsible for rebuilding the structures of the Nile Safari Lodge, a luxury lodge on the banks of the Nile, overlooking Murchison Falls National Park, whose design maximizes airflow and panoramic views through large openings

The Nile Safari Lodge has long been one of the most famous lodges in Uganda and, as it was beginning to show the signs of aging,Localworks began a complete reconstruction and upgrading of the facility. A series of thatched roofs are designed to float above the landscape. The design maximizes airflow, given the hot and humid climate, while generating views of the river and park

The geometry of the roofs, the layout of the terraces are designed in response to the site and its panoramic views. A terrace features a large swimming pool combining the lodge and river or a massage pavilion is located in a spectacular viewpoint. Eight cottages overlooking the river, in complete privacy are made available to guests, with a large bed placed in the centre of each room

The cottages are raised on stilts, to face slopes and improve comfort, and are completely built with natural materials: wood, grass and stone. All the volumes have a north-south orientation, adapting to the wind direction and protecting the spaces from the equatorial sun. The entire structure is powered by photovoltaic panels, thanks to which guests can enjoy any kind of luxury, from private refrigerators to wireless internet connection
