Country house that blends in with its surroundings. A modular, prefabricated wooden structure

VLOT architecten studio designed a countryside house located between a dam and a farmland, where the trees and plants are included in the structure, with the aim of creating a place where clients can enjoy their garden and the view of the polder

In order to minimise or blur the boundary between inside and outside, it is possible to open up the façade completely or use a canopy to create an intermediate zone. The house consists of 54 square metres, but in good weather the usable area increases to 210 square metres

The structure's pergola ensures that the house has a very direct relationship with the greenery. The structure is modular and made of CLT-laminated larch with a 1.5-metre grid in two directions and can be assembled on site

The modular construction is completed with six prefabricated elements: the interior floor, the exterior floor, the open and closed façade, the interior and exterior roof. To minimise the CO2 impact of this building, wood was used almost entirely
